

Harvard University
Harvard College is an undergraduate liberal arts school located in Cambridge, MA, within Harvard University. Founded in 1636, this private, very selective, Ivy League college is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States and was named for its first benefactor, Reverend John Harvard. Students spend their first year and a half creating their own study plans with an academic advisor before joining one of the college’s 50 concentrations (majors) with the choice of 40 secondary fields (minors). Students also have access to a variety of labs, museums, and libraries, including a music library, Library on the History of Women in America, map collection, an arboretum, Harvard Innovation Lab, anatomical museum, herbaria, Center for Astrophysics, Harvard Forest, and more. One in five students attend at no cost to their families, and more than half of the student body receives financial assistance.
