What are High School Junior Scholarships?

High School junior scholarships are scholarships awarded to those with junior standing in high school. Some scholarships may require you to be a “rising junior,” which means that you haven’t entered your junior year yet, but are about to. Others may accept applications from anyone at any point in their junior year. Make sure to read the rules carefully so you understand whether or not you’re eligible.

As a junior applying for scholarships, you’re giving yourself a decent-lengthed runway to accrue money before entering college — good job! Apply to as many scholarships as you’re eligible for, including ones for your intended future major, extracurriculars, life circumstances, passions, and more!

How Do I Qualify for High School Junior Scholarships?

Whether you qualify for a scholarship will largely depend on the provider. If you’re a rising junior (aka in the summer before junior year), a first semester, or second semester junior in high school chances are good that you can apply! Make sure to read the rules of each scholarship thoroughly before submitting your application.

Why Are High School Junior Scholarships Important?

It’s incredibly important that high school students begin applying for scholarships before they head off to college, making high school junior scholarships integral to the process. With the cost of college rising yearly, it’s important that students begin applying to scholarships earlier than ever. Scholarships for high school juniors help these future college students spend more time applying for scholarships, therefore building up a nest egg to offset the cost of college tuition!
