Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

On average, the class sizes are about the size of a high school class (20-30 students), which means each student has a better opportunity to talk to their professor. I am someone who really likes science, so I really enjoy how the science labs have less than 20 people, and often involve field work that helps me learn the material in a hands-on way!
Erin from Appleton, WI
Carroll University is a safe small community where everyone is welcomed and fits in. With challenging academic rigor, helpful readily available resources, and small class sizes you will excel and accumulate knowledge and skill sets that you didn't even know was possible. There are always activities and campus events at Carroll University, never a dull moment.
Morgan from Eland, WI
With the LSP and FYS programs for freshmen, as well as a huge variety of classes, I have learned a lot; and they made the transition from high school to college easy and painless.
Natalie from Waukesha, WI
With smaller class sizes, its easy to talk to your professors. They actually take the time to get to know you and are willing to help when you need it. Plus with the SI program, if you need help studying, there is a peer being paid to take the class with you so they can help you.
Mariah from McHenry, IL
The professors are simply WONDERFUL!!! They can meet with you one-on-one of you ever need help with something or simply just chat about anything. And even if they are not available, some classes offer Supplemental Instruction. There is a SI instructor who has taken and excelled in the class. He or she offers group help sessions at least once a week; if not, more. They also have office hours if you prefer one-on-one help. This program can help a student boost his or her grades by about two letter grades if he or she regularly attends.
Brianna from Bradley, IL
The first year can be hard, but it's the same at any college. Trying to find friends, getting used to dorm life, classes, and taking care of yourself. Stick with it!
Carroll University is a very small, friendly community. Everyone is so kind and helpful with making sure you are successful in many different ways. The faculty really cares about the students and their dedication and commitment is extremely evident.
Savannah from Ocononmowoc, WI
Carroll is a welcoming campus making it feel like a second home. Everyone at Carroll is very friendly and helpful. At Carroll they want to give everyone an opportunity to succeed in the world and to make friends.
Taylour from Waukesha, WI
It is not a very large school so it is easy to get around and know where things are. The campus shuttle and public safety is 24/7 so if you want to go anywhere you can. There are also plenty of clubs to join to meet people.

I toured and have been accepted to Carroll. I felt a sense of security on campus and was welcomed by everyone I met! The feel that I got from Carroll has put it high on my college option list!
