Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

The best part about this school is that you learn a lot here. The professors here are amazing in helping you with your work. They know your name and your not just a number. They know what your good at and exactly what you need help in. Not only academics but also the faculty, staff, and even workstudies are so helpful when it comes to your needs. If at anytime you feel that you need help from someone else besides the professors we have a learning assistance center on campus that is available to student in need of tutoring weather it be math science or even music. There is someone there for every subject. Not once did i ever come out disappointed.
Macy from San Antonio, TX
Yes, all my teachers are very helpful and always available to help me. My teachers have giving me their numbers and emails so that if i miss a certain thing in class, they can call me and email me the notes or PowerPoint's and i am able to send my homework to them as well.
Matthew from San Antonio, TX
Overall the University is great, because it is smaller more people get involved so it is welcoming. Academically it is great, a student receives an education they should be proud of. Anyone would be happy with this amazing school.
Janet from San Antonio, TX
The professors here are definitely knowledgeable and are always happy to help you understand anything you might not. The small class sizes also contribute to how much individual attention you get from your professors, both inside and outside class. Even in the core classes that everyone has to pass to graduate, the classes are no larger than twenty-five students. I feel incredibly intellectually stimulated!
Susan from Houston, TX
This is the best valued school for being a private institution. I have very small class sizes where the professors know me by name. The professors are all genuine and want their students to succeed and there are various things on campus such as the LAC (learning assistance center) that have students who have excelled in classes that are willing to help you succeed too.
Jessica from Sherwood, AR
I admire how UIW staff isn't seen as the typical old college professors but adults that understand what students are going through and try their best to help us all succeed.
Amber from San Antonio, TX
man i am taking my music courses and I'm telling you i could not ask for better professors.small class room setting so you do get that one on one. I mean I'm taking core so its all great i mean every class is small and every single teacher i have had has just been so awesome in helping and i mean they get you are in college so they don't treat you like a kid the treat you like adults and humans so i love it here
Miguel from San Antonio, TX

The dorms are expensive. The food is pretty good. The staff is very helpful.
James from Odessa, TX
Incarnate Word is a friendly, and humble university. It's very multicultural and has students from all over the world. The resources here for your education are plentiful.
