Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. The professors that teach here are wonderful! They are understanding, compassionate and encouraging. They are always open to questions and outside-class time you may need to fully understand the concept.
Samantha from Katy, TX
Basics are too general. Once you get into higher level courses, they begin to be more linked and in tune with your major. Courses are tough but the faculty and professors are always open to questions and are willing to work with your schedule if you need to see them in their office hours. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you don't understand, ASK. PowerPoint's have too much information on slides sometimes and I intensely dislike group projects but having to present the information to the class or instructor means I have to know what I am talking about.
Marie from El Paso, TX
The professors and the people are among the most helpful! They'll even appreciate the stupid questions, everyone has always been more than happy to help!
Kellie from Little Elm, TX
Its crazy (in a awesome way) how they are so involved with students! I just fell in love with campus just from being at orientation. They will help you with anything you need know about Greek life, football traditions, inside the classrooms, etc.
Olivia from San Marcos, TX
Is there any college that really has bang for the buck? I don't think so, but Tech is in a city that is less expensive than most.
Joshua from Tahoka, TX
The teachers here are wonderful! If you don't understand in class they are always there at their office hours to help. Also, sometimes if you can't make their office hours, if you email them they will be more than willing to rearrange a separate time to help!
Red Raider from Fort Worth, TX
I love Texas Tech Univeristy, the professors are so nice and patient. The way they present themselves to the class makes it easy and interesting to listen too. They also are williing to help you in any way they can
Hannah from Wolfforth, TX
in just one semester, texas tech has helped me become the person i've always wanted to be. i've learned so much in such a short amount of time, and i can't wait to spend the next three years here. i can honestly say i've had the time of my life here.
Elizabeth from San Antonio, TX
The teachers here are AMAZING. No joke. I took a nap after one of my finals since I had time before my next one, and when I woke up I had missed my ISQS final! But, my teacher was super understanding and let me take a different final in his office that night. Don't be afraid to go introduce yourself to your teachers at the beginning of the semester. Go to class everyday, ask questions and go to their office hours, because when it comes to the end of the semester and you need those extra few points to boost your grade, if they know you and saw that you were a dedicated student throughout their class, they will have no problem helping you out. Plus, some teachers give pop quizzes for extra credit so it's beneficial if you go to class everyday.
Maisey from Helotes, TX
The professors are amazing; they teach the curriculum very clearly and are available during office hours for additional help. The university also offers free tutoring in every major, which is very helpful as well. Being at Texas Tech has helped me push my brain to limits that I did not know where possible. I am happy to be apart of such a studious university.
Kamaron from Lewisville, TX
