Marquette University

The quality of the education and professors at Marquette University is excellent. All of my professors last year were extremely knowledgeable and besides teaching the curriculum, they also taught life lessons and gave advice.

Going into my first year of college I was worried I wouldn't be fully prepared for the academic side of school. But when I got there that fear went straight out of my mind. All of my professors were extremely helpful in the transition from high school to college life. The courses were not easy and I had to work hard, but through working hard on my own and with the professors, who really make themselves available to their students, I was able to understand all of the advanced concepts they were teaching in class. I felt so much more intelligent returning home after my first semester. I was able to engage in actual adult conversations with my parents and their friends because I was well informed and understood what was going on. It was an incredible feeling and I don't know how I could have lived without it for so long.

My classes are excellent and I am learning so much in a relatively short period of time. The material covered in the classes is challenging as well as engaging. The classes that are specific to my major have been really interesting and have kept me excited to go to class and learn. Further, the classes required by the Core of Common Studies, such as English, theology, and philosophy, have allowed me to learn more about many different topics, cultures, and societies and have taught me how to relate to others at a higher level. After only my first semester, I feel that I have become a very well rounded individual through my education at Marquette thus far. Not only am I learning an immense amount in my lectures, but the learning has also gone beyond the classroom. Marquette makes service an important part of your learning experience. There are so many opportunities to volunteer through your classes and through the Office of Student Development. Through doing service in the community, I have learned firsthand about the poverty present in Milwaukee and how I can make a positive difference.

I have just completed the first semester of my freshman year and am amazed by how much I have learned, both inside and outside the classroom. High school prepared me well for the challenging courses, but at Marquette, everything came full circle. I was able to connect facts from Biology to formulas learned in Chemistry and relate information from Theology to dates I had learned in high school history courses. There are so many course options, opportunities to study abroad (which many upperclassmen recommend- learning about another culture first-hand is a plus!), and participate in research with faculty. The professors are willing to help, whether it is during their office hours or after class.

The education here at Marquette is outstanding! The professors are very organized and will tell you the first day of class what is expected throughout the semester and what it will take to earn that A. Every professor has office hours during which you can go in, chit chat, get homework help, or a better understanding of lecture material. Many professors go where students study just to talk with them or help them with anything they need. The atmosphere and the faculty and staff is what made me want to come to Marquette!

Marquette has a very nice atmosphere that makes it feel like a small school but is big enough to be social. The academic rigor is high, I would recommend it to all health science majors. The opportunities here are endless and the school is very well connected with the surrounding community.

Marquette is a well-rounded university and it is a joy to go here. I know at MU, I will get a great education and become a better person as a whole. They have all the qualities I was looking for, and more!

Everyone at Marquette is really friendly which makes the transition in very easy. There are so many opportunities to join clubs and be a part of the Milwaukee community. Also, the faculty really cares about your future and success and they are eager to help you reach your goals.

What you get out of Marquette is really all about what you want. It has something for everyone, all it takes is finding your place (which is what college is all about, am I right?). Whatever your interest is, be it performing arts, sports, academics, clubs and organizations, or just meeting new people and doing new things, you will find all that and more here.

Marquette University has an amazing campus and is full of intelligent person. After researching this university I think many people will be able to fit right in. Overall Marquette seems like an great choice for prospective students.
