Marquette is a well-rounded university and it is a joy to go here. I know at MU, I will get a great education and become a better person as a whole. They have all the qualities I was looking for, and more!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reputable university that is small enough to receive the attention desired, but large enough to feel like a part of something bigger. Don't rule it out because you think it might be a certain way, or feel a certain way, its a great school that you should definitely look into!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The academic scale is tricky and you need to get a 93% or higher to get an A, but if you work hard enough and get to know your professors and study, you can definitely do it. On the other side of the diploma, you will be well respected with a good GPA.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
As a transfer student, I didn't go to school, therefore live in a dorm, at MU my first semester, so living in a quiet dorm kind of limits my capability to reach other people. But the RAs and the staff working there are all super friendly!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The hours for the dining halls are a little annoying, but once you get used to it, its pretty good. The food itself is good at certain spots for certain types of meals. One place for breakfast, another for lunch, and so on.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Plenty of clubs and organizations to become a part of! I'm in an a capella group, The Meladies, and on the ultimate frisbee team. I'm not in a sorority but if they are what you are looking for then its great! Fun basketball games and obviously good parties!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Very costly, but a great education and a great time while you're there makes it very worth it!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
They bring puppies into the AMU during midterms and finals weeks and they're great! There is a great burger joint on campus called Sobelman's and its super good!
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
So many things to get involved with and become a part of! I suggest to anyone to get involved with a bunch of stuff.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Campus safety is super great and they are always there for whatever you need. Blue light phones are really close on campus if you ever need them.
