Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

Jacksonville is a great school where you get the one on one attention from your teachers that many big universities are not capable of. JSU offers a lot of different programs and major choices. Most likely JSU has the degree you want.
Brooke from Jacksonville, AL
The teachers here are great and are definitely willing to help you out with whatever needs you might have.
Christopher from Douglasville, GA
The teachers are wonderful and are willing to help you in any way they possibly can.
Heather from Alto, GA
Jacksonville has an assortment of classes that will cater to any student's needs and wants. The teachers care about you as a person, not just as a number.
Alexandria from Wedowee, AL
Before I decided on Jacksonville State University, many people had told me that JSU meant just show up. Meaning all you had to do was just come to class and you would pass. Being here for almost a semester has proved their theory wrong. I have to attend all of my classes regularly to stay caught up with whats going on.
Ebony from Leeds, AL
I most definitely will learn a lot. This is such a great school. I've been there twice and learned a lot from my visit. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I think everyone is great!
Chanelle from Valley, AL
Quality of programs & majors is high- much higher than I expected.
Professors are willing to help you do well. Don't skip classes and show respect and effort.
Andrea from MARIETTA, GA
Jacksonville State University is, in my opinion, one of the best universities around. It has a friendly atmosphere as well as a big strive for academic excellence.
Amanda from Jemison, AL
