Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

When you come here, you must be alert and ready to learn. This school is perfect for you, if you like one and one interaction. The classes wont pass 50 students. Professors are always available, the student center will always be watching your grades. They are there to help with any type of homework or classwork. I am learning things for my major and more.
Angeline from Palm Springs, FL
Whether you want to or not, you will learn a lot. So far I have only spent one semester at Florida Institute of Technology and my professors are very serious about teaching their students. They do what they can to help you succeed in the class, and as long as you put in some effort to look for help, you will receive it either from a classmate, the professor, or the Academic Support Center. for the most part, my classes are very enjoyable.
Evadne from Vero Beach, FL
I came into this school pretty unprepared. I had planned on being an actress so switching to Chemical Engineering when I got to college was not something I had prepared for. However with the help of a great support system, mostly wonderful teachers, and my research teams assistance I have managed to get a 3.13 gpa my first year. I now work with instruments and chemicals that I hadn't even heard of before coming to my school.
Brittany from Cape Coral, FL
The professors here have a passion for their subjects and they are committed to helping students. They exploit the classes(in a great way) to make the most out of the students. Teachers are available 24/7 either personally or via email, and they will help you in anyway possible. (could be class related or something personal) Teachers here become your friends!

Florida Tech is a great campus for those who are interested int he sciences and want a small well rounded school. Don't let the idea of it being a tech school fool you, we have sports and a Greek life system that brings you excitement when your not in the lab! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! Join the panther family.
Sarah
Florida Tech is absolutely amazing in creating an environment where you learn the way it's most effective for you. Your professors will be top-notch, but also they make a point to provide more than enough research and internship opportunities on and near campus.
Genevieve from Brookline, NH
Be prepared to work your butt off the first day you are here. It may not seem too hard to get admitted but they weed you out your first year if you are not prepared or committed to the program.
Joseph from Perkasie, PA
The Graduate Student Assistants that are scheduled between your professors' lectures really help to solidify each new concept you learn. I used to have no confidence in my math abilities. Now, I have nothing but 90s and higher on my homework and quizzes.
D'Andre from Palm Bay, FL
Im majoring in Marine Biology and Ecology. I love how the labs are hands on. Almost every biology lab has one or more research projects that you work on for the semester. It teaches you how to design, conduct, and present research. This skills are essential for any scientists and Florida Tech does a great job in preparing you.
Stephanie from Hudsonville, MI
When I visited the University it was great! I got to meet some of my professors that I would have and met with a lot of the admissions office. Everyone was friendly and helpful and really took the time to answer questions.
Kayla from Lenox, MA
