Florida Tech is a great campus for those who are interested int he sciences and want a small well rounded school. Don't let the idea of it being a tech school fool you, we have sports and a Greek life system that brings you excitement when your not in the lab! 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! Join the panther family.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Get involved early! I am apart of Greek life on campus and it was the smartest decision i made. It gets you involved fast and meeting lots of new people. This is important for us ladies who are outnumbered at this school, you get the needed girl time. Also get to know your academic adviser, they will save your life someday.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I recently switched majors (psychology to pre-med) so I can't say to much. From what I heard I must say the classes are tough but rewording. Being a tech school everyone here puts school first, the libraries are busy and books are flying. If you work hard and do your best you will learn a lot and do well.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I didn't live in a dorm so again can't say much BUT straying with friends in there dorms was an experience. Whole dorm floors would get together and go out to dinner or play games, a real community was built for these people. Dorm life seems great if you get active and get involved!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
We have the BEST dinning hall. All you can get yummy food. I love getting a grilled cheese, in fact I get it so much the cook knows me now and has it cooking before I can even ask! The SUB has a great salad bar and fruit bar, for us who are being healthy. The RAT or the mini cafe by the dorms is also very good, they have pizza and the best cookies. There are a lot of restaurants near the school you can drive to as well. Oh and did I mention the RAT delivers on campus!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
The more people you know the more fun you will have. There is something for everyone from LAN parties to FRAT parties, there is a lot to keep you busy. Movies on the green every month and stargazing in the astronomy tower at night. As long as you have some friends with you just chilling in the dorms or apartments can be a blast. See a school play held by our college players or be in the play! See our new football team beat the big bad boy schools. Cheer on the chess players and play piano in our student lounge. So much to do I still haven't done everything.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Expensive, sorry not gonna lie but I think it is worth every penny. Now remember I didn't live on campus so the cost was lower for me and I didn't experience dorm life. But the tuition costs are worth it because of the great teachers and staff that work at the university. If I have a question or problem it gets dealt with. I have learned alot being there just a year, that is priceless.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
Come and experience it for yourselves. Chalk is always fun though.

I can not say enough good things about the Greek Life here. No hazing, I recently went through the recruitment and initiation process and it was a life changing experience. I will not tell you my letters but I recommend everyone to try out Greek Life.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Need a ride, security is right there. Want an escort at night, call security. They are very nice people and really care about the students. Alert text messages and emails go around if there is an issue on campus. Small school so not a lot of safety issues.
