Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

The classes are small, and your professor knows you by name! It makes it easier to ask questions, and receive help! They offer tutoring and have labs where you can go and receive free help!
Both in and out of the classroom you will be constantly learning things. If you join the corps of cadets you will learn even more.
Daniel from Gibsonia, PA
NGCSU is great. I love the Professors and the small classroom environment. I know I can personally talk to each of my Professors and I know they care about my education.
Kaitlyn from Canton, GA
The professors here really push you to do your best. You have to keep up with the work and the studying, but I really have learned so much in the semester and a half that I have been here. They also are very helpful, for the most part. Of course there are bad apples in every bunch, but I say 3/4 of the professors truly care about you. The classes have anywhere from 10-100 people in them, but most of the time, the classes are small (around 30 students per class room), so the teachers get to know you personally and know your strengths and weaknesses in your academics.
Kayla from Dawsonville, GA
I have learned so much since I started going to North Georgia. The class sizes are small so that the teachers can work really good with you. I have already got the chance to work in the field of the career I am interested in, and I'm only a sophomore.
Cayla from Cleveland, GA
an amazing and supportive student and faculty. the traditions are beautiful and really interesting. you'll have to get creative with the food in the cow hall though.
sydney from bonaire, ga
I have fallen in love with The University of North Georgia. The mountains, the community, small classes, student life, scholarships, programs, theres an endless list! The campus is beautiful and the people you will meet will be your friends for a lifetime and UNG is topped ranked!
Machaelie from Dahlonega, GA
I LOVE the University of North Georgia. I believe in what this institution stands for and has to offer. I give UNG an outstanding rating and suggest it to all future students!
Danielle from Dahlonega, GA
I love the University of North Georgia! I love the class size, the mountainous scenery and how kind everyone is. It's easy to adapt to and I feel that it is very possible to get involved and excel at this university.
Allie from Dawsonville, GA
North Georgia is located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Appalachian mountains and the surrounding area is beautiful year round. The campus is small enough to easily walk to all of your classes but big enough that you can meet amazing new people each day. There are truly so many activities in the area to fit every personality type from rock climbing and white water rafting, to shopping and eating at restaurants that serve authentic southern comfort food.
Margaret from Dahlonega, GA
