Overview

Berry College is a 4-year liberal arts institution located in Mount Berry, Georgia. Berry became a 4-year, coeducational college in 1926 and has since grown to offer 42 majors and 38 minors for its undergraduate degree population through four schools. A pinnacle of the Berry education is The Berry Compact, which operates on the idea that shared ownership amplifies the impact of education—students are guaranteed eight semesters of professional work, mentors to guide them, and Berry’s full arsenal of resources. One of those resources is the campus itself—Berry spans more than 27,000 acres, making it the largest contiguous campus in the world, and has been named a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.
