I LOVE the University of North Georgia. I believe in what this institution stands for and has to offer. I give UNG an outstanding rating and suggest it to all future students!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
I believe that in order to make your college career the best it can be, you should get involved as much as you can. College is the time where you really find out who you are as a person, so involve yourself with new opportunities!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The small class sizes present a major advantage over other bigger universities. UNG is challenging and has many programs and majors to choose from. We have many recourses to help aid you in your academic career here at UNG.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
UNG has many different dorm life options for a upcoming student. I would suggest the more traditional option such as Lewis or Donavon. The more traditional options allows a student to become more involved with their new community and environment.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
Chow breakfast is the BEST and has so many fun and exciting options. UNG dining presents the student with many choices and I was surprised to see how many of these choices were healthy, you just have to be creative with your food choices.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
When attending UNG, you will soon figure out that Dahlonega is North Georgia's best kept secret. Wither it is an on campus activity, hiking, camping, event at the downtown square, outlet shopping, greek life, sports clubs, etc.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Due to the small class size, accreditable academic programs, campus involvement, university standards, tradition, and culture, UNG has an outstanding bang for the buck.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
When I first got to UNG I thought it was so sweet and unique that the couples on campus (one partner being in the corps of cadets) did not hold hands, they joined arms. Little did I know that this was a tradition and a rule that they were not allowed to hold hands in uniform.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
ANYONE. Wither you are outgoing, shy, religious, independent, UNG is the place for you. You will have to try and make an effort to make UNG your home, but if you do, there is no doubt that you will fall in love with this University.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Like I said before, whatever you are interested in, you can find it at UNG. If there is not already a club or activity that meets your interests, it is extremely easy to start a club via the Student Involvement Office.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Greek Life at UNG is very unique. Greek life is extremely involved on UNG campus and provide numerous community service opportunities. As well as campus involvement, Greek Life provides great leadership opportunities and growing experiences.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Dahlonega is predominantly safe community. I personally, which is probable not the best, do not lock my car doors or apartment doors. I have never felt unsafe on campus.
