Overview
Founded in 1839, Loras College is a liberal arts school affiliated with the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Loras is the first college created in Iowa and is rated as having “selective” admissions. All first-year students are required to complete a January Term, or J-Term, which is a three-week experiential learning course. Loras College is an inclusive institution and hosts a Children of Abraham program where Christians, Muslims, and Jews are invited to the school for public conversations on religious principles.
