Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

This university is very small which is extremely beneficial, because it allows the professors to be able to work very closely, and often on a one-on-one basis, with their students. All of the professors that I've had know me by name, and this has helped me tremendously because it is easier to get help when I need it. The professors at this university truly care about their students, and it shows in the attention and detail they put into their classes.

The teachers at CSU Bakersfield strive to provide an atmosphere that both teaches as well as entertains, for that reason I feel like I am constantly learning.
Leticia from Bakersfield , CA
california state university bakersfield is a very good college to attend. the tuition is the lowest of all cal state schools. the professors are good and actually care about their students.
Julian from Adelanto, CA
I love my school very much, the students and faculty are very understanding and friendly. Parking isn't bad and neither is life in the dorm. The only issue they have is the math program.
Ashlianna from Lancaster, CA
a ten out of ten rate is what cal state bakersfield deserves to receive due to the fact that it has taught me how to value our environment. also because it has had plenty of educational opportunities not only for my intended major but also for my personality. i have had a great residential and educational experience that i would recommend for other students to apply to this school.

Alejandra from Bakersfield, CA
