Michael’s path in higher education began with a deep appreciation for the transformative power of learning. As a first-generation college student, he experienced firsthand how higher education can open doors, shape futures, and change the course of one’s life.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Winthrop University, Michael went on to pursue a Master’s in Strategic Communication from American University, where he honed his skills in storytelling, digital engagement, and purposeful communication.

Before joining the Appily team, Michael spent over five years managing social media and producing multimedia content within higher education. In that time, he crafted meaningful narratives through the screen and beyond that celebrated student success, elevated the institutional profile, and showcased the lifechanging power of a college degree.

Now, Michael channels his experience and passion into helping high school students access the tools, resources, and confidence they need to take their next step toward college.
