Overview

Yeshiva University is a private, Jewish institution established in New York City. The college consists of four campuses throughout Manhattan and the Bronx, with an additional campus located in Israel. All of YU’s campuses are home to facilities designed to improve student life, such as the college’s Kosher dining facilities and fitness centers. A significant number of students entering their first year at YU choose to enroll in the S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program, which offers students the opportunity to study for a year at the Israel Campus in Jerusalem to both improve their oral and written Hebrew and learn about Israel’s history and culture.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.
