Xavier University of Louisiana is an historically black college and university (HBCU) located in New Orleans. This 4-year, liberal arts institution is one of 10 to receive a Building Infrastructures Leading to Diversity (BUILD) award for their Project Pathways program, which creates pathways to independence for diverse biomedical researchers. Following their HBCU and Catholicism roots, Xavier’s campus is also home to the Center for Equality, Justice, and the Human Spirit, as well as the Center for Minority Healthy and Health Disparities.
