Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.

Classes are small and the professors are nice and really care about your success!
Nicole from Salisbury, MA
I have learned so much at this school! my teachers have been wonderful and the work load was more than high school but totally worth it!
Marie from East Brookfield, MA
I am definitely learning a lot. I am just heading into my sophomore year not, and really looking forward to it. Even in my freshman year I learned so much in mostly general education courses alone. For instance, I took a China course recently where I learned so much about something I had previously had little education of. The professors are great and you can feel the passion that they have for their subjects.
Shannon from Blackstone, MA
Its a great university and has fantastic programs! Its great financial aid and price was the reason I chose here. It has that college feel and you are guaranteed to find your niche at Fitchburg State University!
Christina
So many opportunities no matter what your intrests are. The professors care for each and every student and try their best to accomodate every student. Every person on campus is so friendly, you'll meet friends easily and get involved in something you love even easier!
