Overview

Northern New Mexico College is a public institution primarily serving the rural communities surrounding its campus, including eight area Native American tribes. Incorporating New Mexican culture into its academic curricula, Northern is home to five academic colleges conferring bachelor’s and associate degrees, as well as an associate degree in Pueblo Indian Studies. Northern features a number of cultural organizations including the American Indian Student Organization, Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science, and the Gay-Straight Alliance.
