Overview
Sacred Heart University is a Catholic liberal arts institution in southwest Connecticut and the first Catholic university in the nation to be staffed by non-clergy members. The second largest Catholic university in the Northeast, Sacred Heart is home to eight colleges and schools conferring undergraduate degrees. As a Catholic school, SHU celebrates mass five days per week at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit. For athletically inclined students, SHU fields 31 men’s and women’s teams known as the Pioneers.

Sacred Heart University is a closely knit private school focused in on the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and they live up to this tradition exceptionally. In each of its core classes, and in every learning opportunity students take part in, they are reminded to question their core values and life's purpose. Its wide range of academics, sports, and extracurricular activities make the school a place where students can express themselves in other than just the classroom.

Sacred Heart's curriculum is challenging yet useful. Everything taught is applied to the community outside of Sacred Heart. Most teachers form a personal relationship with their students which makes it helpful to ask for extra help if there isn't clarification on a certain subject.
