Benedictine University was founded in 1887 by Benedectine monks. It is a private institution that has a “selective” admissions process and bases its curriculum on Roman Catholic teachings. It is home to the Jurica-Suchy Nature Museum which houses thousands of mammals, fish, reptiles, and fossils.
