What Students Are Saying
Beware of the locals, you may be able to distinguish between locals and students but if you can you are pretty good!
Brittany from Durham, NC
My tips for prospective students would be to become a leader do not follow behind everybody that says they are your friends becasue it could lead to trouble, No one babies you in college so become a responsible adult quick, it helps to stay organized, set aside play time and studying time, and never give up on yourself no matter how hard the work may get there are always people around that want to help you survive the college life.
Kendra from Greensboro, NC

Apply before at the earliest deadline possible in order to be in the running for a scholarship given by the university.
Shanelle from Laurinburg, NC
When looking for a college to attend make sure you visit the school several time, talk to current students, meet faculty and staff. Make sure you are making your decision based on your needs and not anyone else.
Zachary Bernard Lake
Use all the resource around you, they're here to help you success
Onneya from Wilmington, DE
Please do everything early like filling out papers and submitting things to the school, and stay on top of them about everything. WSSU is a great school but they can be very slow about unorganized so you have to always make sure you are one step ahead.
Khayla from Colerain, NC
For prospective students, it college, its a time when you find out who you REALLY are, the type of people you REALLY like to hang around, and the type of STUDENT you are capable of being. At WSSU its all about going hard or going home, which means if you are here for all play and no work, you will not succeed. They demand, encourage and produce the best of the best. If you come in undecided I guarantee you will leave a decided leader.
Brittany from Durham, NC
College is extremely different from high school, so make sure you get to know your professor well and stay on top of your grades. All of my professors I have had here are very nice, but strict, which is good. It challenges me.
