Overview

Originally founded in 1856 by Oregon pioneers, Western Oregon University is a 4-year public school and the oldest public institution in the state. Western Oregon grants bachelor’s degrees in 52 academic majors. To provide a break from campus, the Western Oregon Outdoor Program sponsors trips for activities such as snowshoeing and trail hiking. For sports fans, Western Oregon fields 11 men’s and women’s athletic teams known as the Wolves.
