Overview
From its campus in Omaha, the University of Nebraska Medical Center is the only public academic health science research institution in the state. UNMC is made up of six colleges concentrating in subjects like Public Health and Pharmacy as well as two institutes for cancer and developmental disabilities research. In addition to its academic curriculum, UNMC offers 29 residencies in fields such as Neurosurgery and Radiology. UNMC Medical students practice surgical techniques under faculty observation at the campus’s Michael F. Sorrell Clinical Simulation Laboratory.
