Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine

Originally founded to address a need for rural physicians, the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine is a 4-year osteopathic medical school with three campuses in Virginia, South Carolina, and Alabama. VCOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree is divided into eight preclinical education academic blocks during the first two years followed by two years of clinical training at a non-urban based hospital. In addition, classroom lessons are supplemented by a Simulation and Technology Center at each VCOM location. All three VCOM campuses hold collaborative research agreements with major colleges and universities, including Virginia Tech and Auburn.
