Overview
One of the first colleges founded in the state of California, American Baptist Seminary of the West is a Christian graduate school in Berkeley and a charter member of the Graduate Theological Union. Affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA, ABSW confers master’s degrees in Divinity and Community Leadership as well as a doctorate in Divinity. The seminary is also home to Iniciativa Latina which offers a bachelor’s degree equivalent and master’s degree program for Spanish speaking students. As a Christian institution, ABSW holds weekly evening worship services following an all-campus dinner.
