REVIEWS
Read What Students Are SayingMy college experience thus far has taught me to work hard, how to prioritize my time better, and how to enjoy a full college experience. Classes here are lots of work, in order to succeed I had to learn great study habits, become friends with my professors, and know that there is always help somewhere in the university. I never once felt overwhelmed or overworked and I soon realized that the University of Nevada, Reno has helped me learn not only inside the classrooms, but outside of them as well.
Jessica from Reno, NV
Though many of the introductory courses are large lecture classes, the vast majority are taught by faculty, not teaching assistants. Professors are generally very accessible and constantly encourage students to come to office hours. Unless of course you prefer to remain anonymous, in this way, it is possible to get to know all of your professors, which in my opinion greatly enriches the learning experience. For those wishing to challenge themselves academically, the university has an honors program, which offers smaller, more demanding classes for highly motivated students. In addition, UNR is considered one of the top research institutions in the country. For those with an interest in doing undergraduate research, most science faculty are eager to share their research and are more than willing to welcome undergraduates into their labs.
Anna from Reno, NV
No matter where you are, college is fun. You will enjoy the freedom of being on your own with less boundaries. Live it up while you can, but don't over do it because all the freedom can sometimes be a dangerous privilege to a student.
Kaila from N Las Vegas, NV
The facilities at UNR are staffed by intellegent people and the resources are pratically endless. The main library is huge! The professors are very passionate about their area of study; they are always willing to lend a hand or just talk.
Alyssa from Keizer, OR
I believe that I can learn so much from all the intelligent people around me- not only teachers but from culture...LIFE!
Kammi from Modesto, CA
The University of Nevada, Reno is an amazing school. It provides all the necessary amentities and activities to allow you to get the perfect college experience. I have made memories, friends, and educational acheivements that will last a lifetime.
Sara from Cameron Park, CA
This is a good school, the academics is challenging. The engineering program is solid. For your first year, the department gathers all engineers from different fields and put them in one class to build a hovercraft, what you come out from that is you learn which engineering field you would like the best, you gain remarkable friendship and an early hands on practice working as a team.
Rittz Shanaine from Reno, NV
One of my new favorite sayings is, Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. This is the University of Nevada, Reno in a nutshell. All of the professors and advisors that I have had the pleasure of conversing with and learning from, are simply incredible. They all put in the time and effort into helping you succeed. So, am I learning a lot? You bet!
Briana from Henderson, NV
This is a research University, so if you are looking for honesty and integrity, this is the college to attend. There are many research opportunities for Undergraduates, so they can expand their knowledge beyond the classrooms. They also have an honor's program for interested students.
Destiny from Fallon, NV
I am in the Engineering Department at UNR and I have never been worried about not know what is going on and understanding. If you don't understand you can go to any teacher you have and they can try to help you. It has all been well-paced and never really hard to get stuff done, yes it takes time, but you can work it out.
