Overview
Located in the midst of Columbia University’s campus in Harlem, Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York is a non-denominational Christian grad school dedicated to providing a theological education to address the issues facing NYC and the world. Union offers four master’s degrees in Divinity, Sacred Theology, Arts, and Social Work, and all students are required to have studied the liberal arts as an academic foundation. Complementing its course offerings, Union participates in numerous social justice-oriented institutes focusing on topics such as Earth ethics and poverty. As a theological seminary, Union holds chapel services four days per week as well as weekly zen meditation.
