New York Law School
Overview
Originally founded as part of a protest by Columbia faculty and students, New York Law School is a legal institution in lower Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. The JD program features a 3-year curriculum and is taught by a full-time staff of 60 professors with extensive backgrounds in both public and private law practice. NYLS requires all students to undertake a unique “clinical year” made up of three 10 week clinical rotations with the Law School’s legal partners in New York City. To put their lessons into practice outside of NYLS’s rigorous academic schedule, students try out for the school’s Trial Competition Team, Dispute Resolution Team, and Moot Court.
