Overview

Founded on a mission to serve low-income minority adult learners, Martin University is the sole Predominately Black college or university in Indiana. All classes in Martin’s nine bachelor’s degree programs are centered around discussion between students and instructors instead of lectures and textbook readings. As a member of the Consortium for Urban Education, Martin enables all students to enroll in one course per semester at another participating Indiana CUE institution. While Martin’s student body is mostly made up of adults over age 25, the university is open to anyone regardless of age.
