Overview

With a campus located in the Texas panhandle, the Covenant School of Nursing and Allied Health is the oldest nursing school in the Great Plains region. The CSON curriculum consists of a 64 week Nursing program combining academic lessons with lab work and at least two days of clinical studies every week. Additionally, all nursing students are required to take eight prerequisite courses. For students who complete the program, CSON partners with Lubbock Christian University to provide an opportunity to continue on and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at LCU.

While shadowing doctors and physician assistants, I was able to see nurses in many settings. All of the personnel that I visited with said that hands down, nurses coming from training at Covenant School of Nursing were much more qualified to walk into their positions and do a great job. The direct patient contact while having instructors involvement is invaluable.
