Describe your college in three sentences.

The staff and professors are so welcoming and the campus feels very safe. The barns are beautiful and the school puts so many resources into students' educations. The professors make a point of getting to know you and making sure that you are successful and reach your goals throughout your years here.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

If you are an equestrian or animal science/pre-vet major, bring a car so that you never miss classes or rush to get from campus to them. Get involved in campus ministry; it's so much fun and the people are so loving and inclusive.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Most classes are pretty vigorous and really require that you study constantly, especially any of the sciences. There are very few classes that do not meet the standard of the rest of the school.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

I live in Bare Residence Hall on the third floor and it is actually pretty nice. There's a big laundry room on the first floor but also a washer and dryer on the third that is never really hard to get access to. Housekeeping maintains the bathrooms and hallways very well. Most people are respectful of quiet hours, but the walls are pretty thin, so you hear a lot. The dorms are small, but not so small that you have no room, especially since you can rearrange the furniture and stack it if you want.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

They try to make a lot of the food seem home cooked and make types of food that the majority of people like. The desserts are fantastic, plus there is always ice cream. As far as drink options go, there are many, even coffee. The on campus restaurants, especially The Cave, are amazing and accessible hours. The main downside to on campus dining is that there are not many healthy options.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

There are a ton of clubs and intramural sports that you can join, whether you have experience or not. The campus ministry options are also great and they never turn anyone away or exclude people. There is a movie theater in town as well as many awesome restaurants. There are a lot of concerts within a two-hour radius, plus there are festivals during the warmer months and scare places during the fall.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Most professors do an amazing job and the degree programs are very through and go much more in depth than most school do. This is especially the case for environmental or equestrian students, who have access to state-of-the-art facilities.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

There are red dots around the fountain, and supposedly if you step on them then you will fail your next test. If you walk under the arch before you graduate (and after the arch ceremony freshman year), then you will not graduate.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Study! The 2:1 study ratio is no joke nor is it exaggerated.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

SO MANY! You really have no excuse to not be involved on campus. Whether it's campus ministry, Greek life, academic clubs, sports, or just fun things, there is always something to do.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

There are a few sororities and fraternities, but since I am not part of one, I cannot give an opinion of them.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

There are emergency phones throughout at campus and their are security patrols and surveillance, I still walk around at night with a buddy or with my keys between my fingers just in case though, especially since I am a girl.
