Temple University offers a spectacular range of majors. They also had so many fun and interesting courses that I had a lot of trouble choosing General Education courses, which is a really a good problem. (Incoming freshmen, or anyone for that matter, you must take The Art of Listening with Dr. Kreinberg. He's an absolute genius and a really nice guy too.) I'm finding that I miss the learning environment and can not wait to get back into the class room/lecture hall to begin my sophomore year at Temple.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I'm grew up in the suburbs so city life is definitely something to get used to. My favorite part about Philadelphia is that no matter what day or time it is, there is always something to do or somewhere to go. The city has so much history and such a diverse population. Most of my experience here at Temple have been pleasant ones.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The University is the most wired university on the east coast. There are computer labs all over campus with free access for students. And not to mention the loaner laptops just in case yours malfunctions. Honestly you don't even need to buy a personal lap top. However, if you do have one and it breaks down they have tech people there to fix it, no charge. I really feel like there are (free) resources all over campus to help me. My favorite one by far is the Math and Science Resource Center. They helped me oodles my first year and I know they'll be right there for the rest of my college career.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
The best tip I could give to any student is to actually show up to class. You may not always feel like going or feel like the professor is going to day or do anything you need to hear about, but you never know and it really can be the difference b/w passing and failing sometimes.
