Overview
SOWELA Technical Community College is a 2-year institution serving five parishes in southwestern Louisiana. Academic programs at SOWELA are divided among five schools offering associate degrees and Louisiana Transfer degrees. The college’s Flight Advising Success Team pairs students with “Flight Advisors” who develop individualized academic plans and provide counseling services. SOWELA’s mascot is the Flying Tiger after the logo from a noteworthy WWII volunteer Air Force flying battalion.
