Overview

Originally founded as a vocational school for returning World War I soldiers, the School of Professional Horticulture at New York Botanical Garden is a horticulturist training academy in The Bronx. The School offers a 2-year degree program in Horticulture that utilizes the Botanical Garden as an outdoor lab to practice lessons from the classroom. In addition to regular classwork, the School provides plant walks, field trips, and internships. Throughout their enrollment, all students receive discounts at the Botanical Garden’s café and shop.
