Fayetteville State University is a good college which has assisted me in growing academically and socially. The faculty are caring and the study body is very helpful as well. Thus far my experience is great and I would recommend this school to my younger friends.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Do as many AP classes as you can in high school. Research your major and start a road map before your senior year in high school.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
This school offers various academic majors, from the Arts to the Sciences. The classes are challenging but tutoring is available. The Professors are willing to discuss the grade structure are encouraging to the student. I am a Chemistry major so my core courses are Chemistry, Math and Physics. These courses require much attention and study time. The library is opened late so students can do research and study.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life for freshman requires adjustment and is humbling. It however teaches discipline and team work and respect.
After freshman year it gets better.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is good but more quality food such as steak would be more appetizing. It is however, understandable since cost of food has escalated over the years.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
I play basketball and do weight lifting. I also social a lot with my friends. We also go to house parties off campus.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Compare to many other universities, Fayetteville State University fees are reasonable.

This school is close to the Army Base and also studies geared towards soldiers.

This school is great for minority students since the enrollment is predominantly African American.

Last semester I entered a competition for an advertisement regarding the youth making choices. I was the proud winner among many other NC colleges. My school received funds for this and my picture was posted on campus as well as published in the local Newspaper.

Incidents happen around the campus but since I have been there nothing unusual happened.
