East Carolina has a beautiful campus. There is so much to do and plenty of time to do it. The community is extremely close and there is always something fun going on.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Get involved! In order to get a full feel of college life you will need to involve yourself in anything. A sport, a fraternity, a club, anything! They are easy way to make friends and to contribute to the college community.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
A lot of the classes require a lot of attention. I have homework almost every night, but you have plenty of time to complete it all. Make sure to challenge yourself when choosing classes.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
When first moving into dorms, make sure to talk to your neighbors! That's the easiest way to make friends because everyone is in the same situation as you as freshman, and they're probably just as nervous as you are. Prepare to enjoy all your freedom but don't enjoy it too much!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There are plenty of places to eat! From the dining hall which is all-you-can-eat, to Subway, to Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, Einstein Bagels and plenty of other close proximity off campus restaurants, you will never go hungry.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Pirate football is an important part of ECU life. Attending the games are crucial. This school has amazing spirit and seeing everyone in all purple is a beautiful sight. Go to the tailgates! There are always things going on like block parties, and carnivals with free food. The gym is open long hours and going there will help you feel productive and relieve stress. During the week, Downtown is the place to go. There are a bunch of clubs near each other to enjoy. On the quad, you'll always catch people playing sports. hanging in a hammock, or just straight chillin'.

The Joyner library has a row of columns that when people walk between, it makes music. During the busier parts of the day, you'll hear a symphony. There's also a clock and at midnight a jester comes out and it is probably the scariest thing you'll ever see.

If you like big schools with a small feel, come to ECU! The campus is small and all of the buildings are close together, but there's close to 30,000 students!

If you know you want to join a sorority/fraternity or that you want to play sports, this is your school. Being in a fraternity is very common and all of them are prestigious. There are many club sports to choose from so if you don't want to play for the actual team, try club sports or intramural sports!
