Overview
Founded in 1880, Bridgewater College is a 4-year liberal arts college in the Shenandoah Valley and the first college in Virginia to admit female students. Bridgewater confers bachelor’s degrees in over 60 academic majors and minors featuring an academic curriculum known as the “Bridgewater Experience.” One of the college’s most enduring traditions is the ringing of the bell at Memorial Hall on the first day of classes, commencement, and following athletic victories. For a break from classes, the BC campus is a short distance from attractions like Civil War battlefields and Monticello as well as opportunities for hiking and rock climbing.

REVIEWS
Read What Students Are SayingTeachers and professors want you to think. The majority are open to taking a few extra days here and there to discuss the issues that students are interested in. After all, it's our education, not theirs.
Heather from Crimora, VA
Bridgewater is the most beautiful campus I have ever been to. The people are so friendly and nice, everyone waves at everyone. This school is small and perfect for one on one learning.
Kaleigh from Williamsburg, VA
Bridgewater is a great community to get involved in! Just be you and don't be afraid to stick out, there are many people just like you! Over all it's a wonderful family to become apart of!
Jillian from Cornish, NH
as a small town guy, bridgewater seems like a pristine campus. people leave their bikes unlocked, the crime level is next to zero. it's beautiful and friendly and lovely.
Brandon from Woodstock, VA
This school challenges you intellectually but also makes you learn a lot about yourself because of the liberal arts program. Having to do community service projects teaches you a lot more than you can imagine. I have studied in both the athletic training program as well as the biology major, both are subjects that I have learned a lot in. Biology is a very difficult major, but great professors make it more understandable.
Brittney from Laurel, MD
Bridgewater offers majors for everyone. Faculty and staff are very helpful. Upperclassmen are kind and very welcoming.
