Scholarships made possible by the Talcott High School Scholarship fund will be awarded to students who are graduates of Summers County High School and would have graduated from Talcott High School had consolidations not occurred. The graduate must live in the area served by Talcott High School at the time of its closing in 1980. This area includes but is not limited to the communities of Talcott, Lowell, Pence Springs, Clayton, Judson, Hilldale, Pawleys Creek, Forest Hill, Indian Mills, Marie, Ballengee, and Barger Springs. The applicant must have maintained at least a 3.0-grade point average for the four years of high school. Funds made available through this scholarship are for graduates pursuing post-secondary education and are made specifically for the academic year for which the applicant first applies. Each scholarship recipient is chosen on the basis of an evaluation of his or her application information.
