I am a health science major and are taking core classes and some science classes. WJU has a set of core classes that every student has to take. For example, psychology, philosophy, religion, history, math, and science.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I enjoy going to Wheeling Jesuit University. It gives students a great round perspective on many different things. There are cultural activities, service activities, athletic activities, retreats, volunteering, dances, planned trips, and so much more. The school encourages students to stay on campus on the weekends. The Jesuit tradition is a part of this school and they hope to encourage students to take part in it.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
WJU gives out a lot of money if you have good grades and have a good ACT/SAT score. They also give some money if you are from a Catholic high school.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Make sure that you like a small school. I don't know everyone by name but I at least know of them. It has a pretty campus and you can walk everywhere. It is about a seven minute walk through campus. It has intramural sports and is now starting a new JV team program for many sports, like baseball and basketball. The academics can be challenging but I have learned a lot since I have been attending WJU. I like most of my professors. They care about each student and want to help them as much as they can. There is very few people that live off campus. Most people live in the dorms all four years.
