Overview

Deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Western Colorado University delivers a full liberal arts curriculum and career preparation in more than 100 areas of study. Encouraging a tight-knit community, WCU’s goal is to provide personalized attention to ensure students gain real-world experience before graduation. Western is home to the new Paul M. Rady School of Computer Science and Engineering, made possible through a collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder. Located in Gunnison Valley, students can take advantage of Western’s location through the Wilderness Pursuits program, or by visiting either of the two ski resorts, both within 43 miles of campus. To top it all off, Western provides a number of study abroad options for its Mountaineers, including Semester at Sea and semester- or year-long stays at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England.

Additional Costs
Room and Board The weighted average for room and board and other expenses is generated as follows:
  • (amount for on-campus room, board and other expenses * # of students living on-campus.
  • + amount for off-campus (with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus with family
  • + amount for off-campus (not with family) room, board and other expenses * # of students living off-campus not with family)
divided by the total # of students. Students whose living arrangements are unknown are excluded from the calculation. For some institutions the # of students by living arrangement will be known, but dollar amounts will not be known. In this case the # of students with no corresponding dollar amount will be excluded from the denominator.
