As a nursing student at Ursuline college, I have had a very full schedule due to the strenuous nature of studying for a successful career in the health field. Although I have heard great things about their other majors offered which range from secondary education to art history, I can only give a first hand review on the classes I have taken. So far I have studied anatomy, anatomy lab, intro seminar, chemistry 1, chemistry lab, psychology, ans sociology. I felt that the instructors were extremely knowledgeable and provided the tools needed to get a great background in their field.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Ursuline College seems like a very quiet campus but it stresses the power of each individual voice. Everyone is able to express their opinion to change, support or create anything they want. When you are sick of studying and need a break, there are many places to go to just hang out, eat, and relax. Clubs, athletics, and anything else you could imagine are with in 10 minutes drive away if not on campus. Ursuline College has everything I need and want to not only become a great nurse but also enjoy my time liviing there. So far I have loved my time as a student here.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Ursuline is a private college and is considered far from cheap where I come from. Tuition is usually around $33,000 per year which is nowhere near pocket change for me. Yet I and most every applicant is able to afford the final cost. Ursuline works hard to make the education and experience affordable for any salary. So for this affordable price Ursuline College provides a top notch education and a great environment for learning or having fun.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
1) Live on campus!!!! Living on campus is a great way to meet people and really get the full bang for your buck.
2) Research the school's available clubs (art, nursing, AIMS) and think of any you would love to add.
3) Find scholarships offered by the school. It's a great way to help pay for your books or tuition.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Students who want to focus on their studies and get a quality education while meeting a great variety of people and having tons of fun would love this school.
