Heather's Review

Review of University of New Haven

from Stephenville, TX

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

The teachers are really nice and help out a lot. Also if the teacher is unavailable, there is a peer tutoring center and center for learning resources which contains tons of faculty that just go to the library to help students. The best thing is that all the tutoring help is free! Also, in the dorms they have Academic Peer Mentors that are there to help you with anything you need.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I love the campus. If you get involved on campus, you will love it. The people that say they hate it here are the ones that sit in their rooms and never try to get involved or make new friends. It's college, get out there and meet people.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

It's rather expensive to attend, but if you get the grades you can get scholarships. There are tons of scholarships available, you just have to put in the work to win them. Also almost all of the school sponsored trips off campus are free. They are able to do this because of how much they charge to attend the university. They give you free bus passes that work all year and put on tons of on campus activities.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

definitely get involved be welcoming to new people and friends (don't be shy) make sure you get help in a class before it's too late to do anything about grades

Which types of students will excel at your college?

like smaller campus, yet not too small criminal justice and forensic science students not a big party school
