Describe your college in three sentences.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a great school with a comfortable campus that will become your home away from home! With so many clubs and organizations to join, school spirit is high and there is always something fun to get involved with. If sports are your thing, Husker athletics have so much going on and never disappoint.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

UNL's campus is easy to navigate but I highly recommend planning out your classes with distances in mind. There is only 10 minutes between class periods and with two different campuses, you could find yourself panicked if you are running late. If you have to go back and forth, make sure you give yourself plenty of time. I also recommend living on campus, either in the dorms or a greek house, if at all possible. This will give you an opportunity to meet more people, spread out your classes, and give you the ability to become involved in one of the many on-campus organizations.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

The classes at UNL are challenging enough that you don't feel like you are wasting your time but not too difficult that you feel like you are in over your head. If you are having any problems or not understanding the material being taught in class, there are so many resources on campus that can be a huge help. I have spent many afternoons in the chemistry resource center and there is always someone there to answer your questions.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

There are so many different options for living on campus at UNL. With tons of new dorms and apartments, there is definitely something for everyone.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

You can get an a 5 or 7 day meal plan that will allow you to eat at the dining halls on campus. (Essentially this is all-you-can-eat, which can either be a good or a bad thing.) If you take a short walk from campus, there are a ton of restaurant options as well. Something for everyone; Thai, Mexican, Pizza, Mediterranean, BBQ, etc. There are also a few places located inside of the Union.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Even if you've never had interest before, the football culture in Lincoln is infectious! Saturdays in the fall are so much fun it will make you wish that football season was year round. Go Huskers!!

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

This university is incredibly affordable for both in-state and out-of-state tuition. There are also many programs in place to ensure that anyone who gets accepted at UNL can afford to attend (i.e. College Bound Nebraska).

Which types of students will excel at your college?

UNL is a perfect option for those students who are pursuing a career in Agriculture/Agronomy, Nutrition and Health Sciences, Engineering, Forensic Science, and Food Processing/Technology. Many students are very active, which you can see by the steady flow in and out of each campus' recreational centers.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

UNL's campus is located in a very safe part of the country. The university uses a text messaging alert system that if you sign up for it, you will be immediately notified if anything out of the ordinary is going on. The campus is also well lit and I feel very safe walking around at any time of day.
