Review of University of Denver

from Denver, CO

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

DU gives you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you learn in classroom to the local community around you. The university upholds many professional relationships with the city of Denver and the surrounding area, which allows students to also develop networking and see how the skills are applied in everyday life. A lot of the professors are also highly respected in their field and are still practicing their work, not just teaching in the classroom.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I LOVE spending time on campus!! It is absolutely beautiful with its red-brick pathways, ponds and fountains, and well maintained landscape. Since there isn't a ridiculous amount of students, it is easy to get around and everyone is fairly friendly. There is wireless Internet in every building along with comfortable places to relax, catch up with friends, or study. You can always find something to end no matter where you are on campus.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

DU is fairly expensive compared to other schools, however you don't have to worry about overwhelming large class sizes like other public universities. The University of Denver also offers better financial aid, grants and scholarships to incoming students because they recognize how high tuition is in comparison. I have a friend that went to a public University in Colorado and ended up paying more than I do even though overall general tuition is twice the price of DU!!

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

I highly recommend that visit campus if you can. I visited as many as I could, but once I visited DU, I could just feel how right it felt. I know it sounds corny, but you'll know when you step foot there.

Which types of students will excel at your college?
