Review of University of Chicago

from Oak Park, MI

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

It's called restricted access. It's amazing, we learn everything from a primary angle; our professors wrote the textbooks that students at other colleges study from.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

The rigorous coursework is stressful, and its hard feeling warm and comfortable in Chicago's bitter winters. It is not easy to engage in social life because everyone is preoccupied trying to stay above water in class.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

The dorms were horrible, ripped furniture, germy carpet in need of new everything. They are getting much better though, built two new dorms so newcomers will never know the of the infested old ones.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

i suggest you decide how you balance social and academic life now and examine how that might change coming here. Are you okay with that a change?

Which types of students will excel at your college?

open, hardworking, the type that takes long projects and breaks them into pieces. good writers. city dwellers
