UTC offers a very diverse group of students, I love this because out of all the other schools I applied and were accepted to, lacked minorities.
UTC's campus is beautiful, it offers appealing landscapes and historic buildings, so there's just as much to learn inside the classroom as outside.
Finally, Chattanooga is an amazing city in itself, so you do not have to stray too far away from campus to have a good time in the city, there is also plenty of outdoor activities to take part in throughout Chattanooga's great outdoors.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Use the scholarship requirements as your acceptance requirements, this way not only are you more likely to be accepted, but you're more likely to get a scholarship from the university as well. But, do not base your entire decision of attending on whether or not you get a scholarship. If you love the school, and feel it is a good fit, go for it!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I have not yet been to any classes, because I start in the fall.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
UTC's dorms are amazing. Not very many universities offer Apartment style housing options. This is cool because I'm able to have my own privacy in my own room, while also utilizing a full kitchen and fridge! But of course if those didn't interest me UTC also offers traditional style housing, which Is great because I love having options.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
UTC offers so many different food options. The cafeteria, Crossroads, is conveniently located near the center of campus, as are the other dining options such as Subway, and various restaurants/fast-food within the University Center,
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There is never a reason to be bored on UTC's campus simply because there are so many activities to be apart of and get involved in. With a variety of Sororities, Fraternities, Clubs, and Intramurals, there's something for everyone.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
In my opinon, you really do get what you pay for. UTC is a midsized campus, with plenty of options of majors to learn from as well as activities to keep you entertained each year you attend.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
People that love the outdoors and love having options to choose from will love UTC.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
UTC has police officers patrolling the university at all times. They also offer a great deal of blue light systems that can be utilized by anyone at any point of the day. I know for a fact I can feel very safe on this campus.
