Seton Hall is a mainstream college meaning it is a college that specializes in every single major that is possible and that there is no specific major that they cater to. It is more for those who want a traditional college experience since this is what Seton Hall represents. In the classes I have taken, I am learning a lot and learning new things. A lot of reading you have to do but it benefits you because at some point in life, you will remember what you read and you will use it in whatever it is you are doing.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I really enjoy being here. The campus is medium-sized. Not too big and not too small, its just right. You can imagine yourself there and it is a really amazing sight when you see it. The middle of the university is the lawn called The Green and it is really green. Its really an amazing sight and you can see yourself there and you'll feel right at home because its not small and its not big, it is just right for anybody.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
It is a lot of money, its a private institution and that means that you have to pay a lot of money. However, the school helps you with financial aid and there is a grant that Seton Hall gives to all its students depending on the FAFSA and their economic background. You also receive grants from the state to help you come to this university and the university has grants and scholarships of its own. There are ways for you to attend here and their scholarships and grants help you especially EOP. Also it is a very prestigious school where its name is grand and known worldwide, graduating from here will give you a degree that is so valuable and that guarantees you a job in six months as per Seton Hall itself says. A degree that is a lot of money but well worth it when you obtain your job and when you have a high position and earning a very good salary.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
For those students here in New Jersey, you will get help from the state, the university, and I encourage you to apply for EOP. I am an EOP student and it truly helps you in terms of refining and not losing the skills you have obtained in high school and you obtain a grant from them that truly helps you out no matter how small it is, every little bit helps. For those not in Jersey, you still obtain scholarships and grants from the university and you can transfer into the EOP program if you were in an EOP of EOF program at your state. Dorming is really amazing, I highly encourage it since you meet new people and new friendships will grow and soon you become the best of friends. In my dorm building, everyone knows me and I know them, its an amazing relationship we have because we get along and we all know each and we just have fun. Seton Hall is definitely a great place, with professors that help you and willing to answer your questions and staff all over campus that will help you if you search for it and it is not hard to do.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
This university is great for all types of students. Its good for those that want a small place, those that want a medium place, a place that can be like a second home. There is plenty of people and everyday you meet and see new people. Also, it is very accepting of any nationality and economic background, I am a Hispanic from a middle class background and I'm having a very good and amazing time here. Its truly an awesome place.
