Overview

The School of Missionary Aviation Technology is a Christian-centered school of aviation training in central Michigan. SMAT offers an Aviation Flight Training Program and a 1-year Aviation Maintenance Training Program specializing in Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics. As an institution dedicated to mission aviation training, all SMAT instructors provide instruction on mission agency requirements in addition to the principles of flight. All SMAT instructional flights take place at Ionia County Airport.
